Police responding to ‘disturbance’ in downtown Anchorage, close city streets – Alaska Public Media

Anchorage police say they’re responding to a “disturbance” in downtown Anchorage on Friday and have closed a number of metropolis streets.

“APD is on scene responding to a disturbance. There isn’t a public risk,” mentioned an electronic mail round 4:15 p.m. from Cherie Zajdzinski, a police division spokesperson. “Additionally there are rumors that that is an energetic shooter-that will not be correct.”

Police have shut down third to seventh avenues between Ok Road and I Road. They’re asking folks to keep away from the realm. Police first alerted the general public of the highway closures and a big police presence downtown round 3 p.m.
