Alaska State Troopers warn of youth cyber-crime trend

Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Alaska State Troopers have gotten experiences of a cyber-crime development impacting Alaskan youth.
The scheme known as “sextortion”, usually includes a scammer posing as a youth on-line and growing a relationship with a youth sufferer.
The scammer then asks for inappropriate images or movies of the sufferer.
The scammer will demand cash and threaten to launch the nude images to household, area people members, and faculties if the sufferer doesn’t pay.
Victims of this crime are warned to not pay the scammer by Alaska State Troopers.
There is no such thing as a assure the scammer won’t launch the images anyway, Alaska State Troopers state.
If somebody falls sufferer to this scheme, they need to report it to IC3.gov and their Alaska State Troopers.
