An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck Southcentral Alaska simply earlier than 6 a.m. and was extensively felt within the Anchorage space.

The 5:48 a.m. quake was centered on the west aspect of Cook dinner Inlet about 75 miles west of Anchorage, at a depth of about 69 miles, in line with the Alaska Earthquake Heart on the College of Alaska Fairbanks.
