Woman charged with hate crime for allegedly yelling racial slurs, throwing water at family of 6 in Ventura

A Santa Barbara County girl was charged with a hate crime after she allegedly yelled racial slurs and threw water on a household of six in Ventura.

Police arrested 33-year-old Eden Haven-Martinez of Santa Maria on Dec. 12, after she allegedly adopted the household, who’re Hispanic, as they left a division retailer.

She was arrested close to the scene shortly after police arrived.

On the time of her arrest she was booked and launched from jail on her personal recognizance and was informed to seem in courtroom this Friday to face misdemeanor prices for battery, youngster endangerment and hate crimes.

In line with the Ventura County District Lawyer’s Workplace, Haven-Martinez didn’t present up for her Friday courtroom date and a bench warrant was issued for the quantity of $5,000,
