Transient arrested in arson of Riverside encampment: Police

A transient is going through costs of arson and tried homicide after a hearth was set at a homeless encampment in Riverside on April 15, in line with police.

The encampment within the 5900 block of Van Buren Boulevard was “properly concerned” with the fireplace, which was set at about 7:30 a.m., and a person was “affected by vital burns to his decrease extremities” when Riverside Fireplace Division personnel arrived, the Riverside Police Division stated in a press launch.

The Fireplace Division decided that the fireplace was “deliberately ignited whereas the sufferer was contained in the encampment,” police stated.

Joseph Breyer, a 42-year-old transient of Riverside, was recognized as a suspect. He was situated and arrested on Wednesday, then booked into the Robert Presley Detention Heart in lieu of $1 million bail, police stated.
