A Riverside County high school coach was arrested for allegedly having inappropriate sexual contact with students.

The suspect was identified as Jesse Gonsalez Lopez, 27, from Perris, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

In August 2024, deputies responded to a high school in the 100 block of Nuevo Road in Perris to investigate claims of an employee having “inappropriate contact with students.”

Jesse Gonsalez Lopez, 27, is seen in a booking photo from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Specific details on what the allegations involved were not released. However, on Oct. 10, investigators determined enough evidence was provided to take Lopez into custody.

He was arrested on charges of child annoyance, sexual battery, and lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
