Who is Kai Trump? Donald Trump's eldest grandchild speaks at 2024 RNC

Published

on

Donald J. Trump is often referred to as “President Trump” or “Mr. President,” and has formerly been known as “Commander in Chief,” “POTUS” and “45,” as he was the 45th President of the United States. He has also enjoyed several other prominent titles.

However, before Trump was the leader of the free world, he was lovingly known as “dad” to five children, including Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany and Barron, and “grandpa” to 10 grandchildren, beginning with the eldest, Kai.

Kai, 17, was seemingly ready to be cast into America’s political spotlight after she spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention on Day 3 of the event in Milwaukee.

“He calls me during the middle of the school day to ask how my golf game is going and tells me all about his, but then I have to remind him that I’m in school, and I’ll have to call him back later,” Trump’s granddaughter told a raucous crowd in Milwaukee.

“On Saturday, I was shocked when I heard that he has been shot, and I just wanted to know if he was okay,” Trump said, describing the events following the attempted assassination of the former president.

“A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing,” the teenager added.

“Grandpa, you are such an inspiration and I love you,” Trump said. “The media makes my grandpa seem like a different person. But I know him for who he is. He’s very caring and loving. He truly wants the best for this country. And he will fight every single day to make America great again. Thank you very much.”

Recently, the daughter of Don Jr. and Vanessa Trump, now divorced, was a regaled guest of Dana White’s at the UFC 303 fight, which she attended opposite her dad. The Florida teen posed for photographs with White, the president of the UFC, former NFL superstar Aaron Rodgers and country music star Jelly Roll, among other A-listers.

Kai, born May 12, 2007, is an enthusiastic golfer. She is active on social media and regularly posts about her golf skills.

Last year, the Florida native started a YouTube channel. She kickstarted the outreach social media page with a video titled, “Get to know Kai Trump!”

“It should overall be a fun channel,” Kai said in the clip.

As Kai scampers around a golf course, her friend asks questions, and she gives viewers insight into some of her favorite things, which includes pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks, proscuitto meat and ricotta cheese, and playing pickleball and tennis.

In March, Kai won the ladies’ club championship at the private Trump Golf Club in West Palm Beach. She has posted photographs and clips in the past playing with golf professional and PGA player Bryson DeChambeau.

Mixed into her fitness reels, Kai reminds social media users that she is an undoubted supporter of her grandpa.

On Saturday, while speaking to supporters at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Trump was shot by a lone gunman perched on a rooftop nearby. He was struck in the ear before Secret Service agents covered him and removed him from the stage.

Before being escorted away, the former president was recorded straight-armed with his fist in the air shouting “fight, fight, fight” to the crowd.

Kai took to Instagram to express her admiration for her grandfather’s unwavering will to wrangle the U.S. political system for the people. She wrote, “We love you Grandpa. Never stop fighting!”

In mid-June, Kai joined tens of thousands of people at Turning Point USA’s leadership summit event hosted by Charlie Kirk in Detroit. She was photographed with former President Trump, Don Jr. and her brother, Don III, 15.

Trump will return to Michigan on Saturday with Vance for their first campaign rally as the official Republican ticket for the 2024 elections in Grand Rapids. The rally will be hosted indoors.

Kai’s other siblings include Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.

A Florida teenager is recovering after surviving a lightning strike while he was doing yard work during a storm.

Daniel Sharkey, 17, was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center after the incident that happened on Monday around 5 p.m. in Altamonte Springs.

“It came straight through the tree,” he told Fox 35.

Sharkey, who runs a lawn care company, was weed-whacking a neighbor’s yard amid the storm when he was struck, the outlet reported, noting that lightning can strike miles from a storm. He was then seen lying on the ground as neighbors rushed to help him.

The teenager is thankful to have survived the strike, but he remains in pain.

“My chest hurts, and everything is sore,” Sharkey said, adding that he feels “lucky to be alive.”

“I couldn’t scream – at least, I don’t think I was making any noises,” he said.

Sharkey said he believes a tree he was near that was struck by the lightning is the reason he is still alive.

“If it was a direct hit, I probably wouldn’t be here today. I am lucky that tree was there,” he said.

He noticed the storm getting near but mistakenly believed he had plenty of time before he needed to take shelter.

“I saw the storm was approaching; it was thunder and lightning, so I thought I had time,” Sharkey said. “I was pretty sure I could finish up because we have a siren that goes off when it’s lightning, and it had not gone off yet.”

But then Sharkey was suddenly struck by lightning and struggled to move.

“I couldn’t move any of my extremities … it felt like static on you … everything was tingling like your hands and arms were asleep,” he said.

Sharkey said he survived a rare incident of someone being struck by lightning and that he is lucky to be alive.

“It was just a complete fluke. It’s a one-in-a-million shot to get hit by lightning, and it’s not 100% survival. Luckily, that tree was there, and I am lucky to be alive,” he said.

On this day in history, July 14, 1968, Atlanta Braves legend Henry “Hank” Aaron hit the 500th home run of his record-breaking career in a 4-2 win over the San Francisco Giants.

With 499 career home runs under his belt, Aaron hit a three-run shot in the third inning of the game off Giants’ pitcher Mike McCormick, noted History.com.

“Aaron was mobbed at home plate by his teammates and presented with an award by Braves President Bill Bartholomay for reaching 500 home runs,” the same source noted.

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY, JULY 13, 1937, KRISPY KREME IS FOUNDED

Born on Feb. 5, 1934, in Mobile, Alabama, Henry Aaron exhibited athletic prowess in his youth.

He was a star football player, third baseman and outfielder in high school.

He signed with the Negro League’s Mobile Black Bears while still a teenager, recounted History.com.

Aaron joined the Indianapolis Clowns in 1952 at age 18 and assisted the team in winning the Negro League World Series.

The following year, Aaron’s contract was sold to the Milwaukee Braves of the National League, the same source indicated.

“On April 13, 1954, Aaron became the last former Negro League player to make his debut in the major leagues,” said History.com.

It wasn’t until 1973 that Aaron was thrust into the national spotlight as he neared the finish of a successful assault on one of sport’s most cherished records: Babe Ruth’s mark of 714 home runs.

Many baseball historians believe 1957 was arguably Aaron’s best season.

“He hit .322 that year with 44 home runs and 132 RBIs, captured the National League MVP Award and led the Braves to their first World Series Championship since 1914,” noted the same source.

Aaron also went on to hit 203 home runs between 1969 and 1973, said History.com.

Despite his consistent production, it wasn’t until 1973 that Aaron was thrust into the national spotlight as he neared the finish of a successful assault on one of sport’s most cherished records: Babe Ruth’s mark of 714 home runs, according to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

“It was on April 8, 1974, that Hammerin’ Hank sent a 1-0 pitch from Dodgers hurler Al Downing into the left field bullpen at Atlanta-Fulton Count Stadium, giving Aaron 715 career home runs,” recounted the same source.

Aaron would finish his career with 755 home runs.

He remains baseball’s all-time leader in RBIs (2,297) and total bases (6,856).

Aaron’s home run record stood until the 2007 season, which ended when Barry Bonds hit his 756th career home run.

It was shortly after Hank Aaron’s record-breaking home run that Rep. Andrew Young, Democrat of Georgia, declared, “Through his long career, Hank Aaron has been a model of humility, dignity and quiet competence. He did not seek the adoration that is accorded to other national athletic heroes, yet he has now earned it,” according to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

After the 1974 season, Aaron was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers, who were at that time in the American League, according to Britannica.com.

Aaron not only held the home run record but also the records for at-bats, total bases, extra-base hits and runs batted in, the same source recounted.

Miami prosecutors have dropped computer hacking charges against a bikini model and her parents in the stabbing death of her boyfriend in a luxury high-rise apartment.

Courtney Clenney, a 28-year-old OnlyFans model with an Instagram following of nearly 2 million, has been in custody since August 2022 after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, 27, in the heart.

The slaying was initially considered self-defense, but investigators continued to dig after vocal concerns from Obumseli’s family.

Prosecutors later tacked on computer hacking charges against Clenney and her parents after reviewing communications between her dad and her defense team.

But those charges were dropped after the judge ruled the prosecution’s use of those communications violated attorneny-client privilege.

Jude Faccidomo, the Clenney family’s defense attorney in the hacking case, said the Miami State Attorney’s Office should recuse itself from the case after reading the materials because it involved private defense strategy with Courtney Clenney’s other lawyers.

A spokesperson for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said investigators were not aware of an attorney-client relationship between Clenney’s parents and Prieto.

“Judge Laura Cruz found that prosecutors were unaware that attorney Frank Prieto represented Kim and Deborah Clenney since a retainer agreement hiring him was only produced after their arrest,” Ed Griffith, the spokesperson, said in a statement. “Additionally, attorney Prieto never publicly indicated that he represented Kim and Deborah Clenney, only their daughter.”

Police read the texts, saw evidence of a crime and shared it with prosecutors, he said. However, after the judge’s decision, they had to be dropped.

Kim Clenney, 60, and Deborah Clenney, 57, are her father and mother.

The parents are accused of discussing PIN and password options in a group text with four of their daughter’s lawyers — Frank Prieto, Sabrina Puglisi, Manuel Recio and Pamela Corvalan, who allegedly obtained the login details from the jailed murder suspect.

Neither Prieto nor his office responded to requests for comment Friday.

“Will you be sending the laptop PIN ideas so we can try them before you see her again?” Kim Clenney wrote to the group Sept. 26, 2022, according to a warrant for his arrest in Texas.

“Good evening guys. I have a couple that I can forward to you tomorrow,” Prieto replied. Four days later, the father wrote back, “Hell yeah! That PIN worked!”

Prieto previously told Fox News Digital there was “clear evidence of self-defense” and that Obumseli had choked Clenney in the moments before the stabbing.

“Courtney had no choice but to meet force with force,” he said.

The couple had a fiery relationship, friends told Fox News Digital. Although they claimed Clenney was often the aggressor. Even though she sought a restraining order against Obumseli before his death, videos have emerged of her screaming at him, hitting him and using racial slurs.

The two met during a trip to Tulum, Mexico, and began dating after they returned to the U.S. They relocated from Austin, Texas, to Miami, where Clenney pursued her OnlyFans modeling career and Obumseli traded cryptocurrency and became her manager.

In a February 2022 video recorded during a trip to Aspen, Colorado, and made public this January, Clenney shouted at and repeatedly struck Obumseli in front of someone who recorded the encounter.

She blamed Obumseli for her own drinking, telling him he was “fired” and screaming at him to leave. She also accused him of costing her money and flirting with other women. Less than two months later, she allegedly stabbed him to death.

Lawyers for Obumseli’s family say a long trail of evidence shows Clenney was the manipulative abuser with a history of domestic violence, not him.

At another point during the trip, Obumseli showed up with a fresh stitch on his face, according to a mutual friend.

“Christian was a very large guy, and he could’ve easily done damage if he wanted to, but he never fought back,” the friend told Fox News Digital. “He always would just take the abuse from her, and literally the video shows everything.”

Obumseli’s family is suing the building manager of the luxury condo where the couple lived and the security firm that allegedly stood outside the couple’s apartment doing nothing as the stabbing took place, Obumseli family attorney Kimberly Wald told Fox News Digital.

The family also has a pending lawsuit against Clenney.

She is facing a second-degree murder charge for her boyfriend’s death.
