Trump 'inherited an 0-12 football team' from Biden, Sen Tuberville says

NEWYou can now listen to Fox News articles!
President Donald Trump has reached the coveted 100-day mark in his second presidency, and it is once again a polarizing tenure.
Since taking over as president, Trump has cracked down on illegal immigration and transgender athletes participating in women’s sports.
At the same token, Trump’s tariffs have also resulted in negative affects on the stock market, with prices from the end of former President Joe Biden’s presidency still at the forefront.

Trump said there would be lower prices on day one, but Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., said that was a nearly impossible task considering the “huge hole” Biden put him in.
“The Democrats are fighting us tooth and nail for trying to make our country better. President Trump’s been put in a huge hole. He inherited, I’ll put it this way, a 0-12 football team with no wins at all for the last four years,” Tuberville told 109.9 The Game in Tuscaloosa. “He’s trying to get us out of the hole, and he’s doing a good job of it.”
Tuberville said he thinks Trump’s first 100 days were “very good,” but “it’s hard to grade anything when you start from below zero.”

“There were no wins here – that Biden football program for four years didn’t win a game. They didn’t do a thing for the American taxpayers, the American citizens. Everything was from outside our borders, crime is rampant, our economy is gone to help in a hand basket, and there was no growth whatsoever. They’re all screaming and yelling ‘President Trump’s been in for 100 days, he hasn’t gotten it turned around.’ Really? You can’t do it overnight. But it’s going to happen. I’m proud to be on the team.”
Tuberville also implored the youth to “rally around Trump.”
“I don’t think people across the country, no matter what age, realize how close our country’s coming to just absolutely folding left and turning absolute socialist. Look at what happened to Canada, their economy, everything is DEI, this and that, and they turn around and elect another guy that’s just as bad. We’ve lost our closest neighbor in Canada. We’re the shining star of the world that has not been taken over by globalists, by the DEI movement, the woke movement, and President Trump is on top of it. Hopefully the youth of this country understands they’re in the best country ever.”

Tuberville got into politics after his legendary coaching career at Auburn – ironically, he will be at the graduation of the school’s biggest rival in the University of Alabama with Nick Saban and Trump himself.

Federal judge orders local law enforcement to stop enforcing new immigration law

A federal judge in Florida said an order that blocks local police from enforcing a new state immigration law applied to all local agencies despite the state’s attorney general stating otherwise in a recent memo.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams told attorneys for the state during a hearing in Miami on Tuesday that she planned to issue a preliminary injunction against a statute that makes it a misdemeanor for undocumented migrants to enter Florida by eluding immigration officials.
Williams said she was “surprised and shocked” that Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier told local police in a letter last week that they didn’t need to follow her order.
“What I am offended by is someone suggesting you don’t have to follow my order, that it’s not legitimate,” Williams said.

Earlier this month, Williams issued a temporary restraining order against the statute. Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the legislation into law in February as part of President Donald Trump’s push to crack down on illegal immigration.

Williams extended the order another 11 days after learning authorities had arrested 15 people, including a U.S. citizen born in Georgia.

After the extension, Uthmeier sent a memo to state and local law enforcement officers telling them to stop enforcing the law, even though he disagreed with the judge’s order.
Five days later, however, Uthmeier sent another memo saying that the judge was legally wrong and that he couldn’t prevent local police officers and deputies from enforcing the law.
No additional arrests have been reported since Uthmeier’s second memo.

Kamala Harris plans to take on Trump in first major speech since leaving office — but it'll cost you to watch

Former Vice President Kamala Harris will deliver her first major remarks since leaving the White House at the Emerge gala Wednesday in San Francisco — but those who want to virtually stream her speech will have to pay a fee.
Emerge, a training organization that seeks to prepare Democratic women to run for office, is charging $25 for viewers to gain access to the virtual livestream of the organization’s 20th anniversary gala. Other package options include a $100 fee for young professionals and a $250 general admission ticket.
A spokesperson for Harris confirmed she would deliver remarks at the Emerge gala and deferred to Emerge when asked about the price of the streaming fee. A spokesperson for Emerge did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.

Harris is expected to issue a harsh rebuke of President Donald Trump in her keynote address and will specifically encourage Americans to resist Trump’s economic agenda, Politico reports.
Other speakers at the gala include Democrat U.S. Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Michigan state Sen. Mallory McMorrow and New Mexico state Sen. Cindy Nava.
Likewise, Deb Haaland, who served as former President Joe Biden’s Interior secretary, will speak at the event. Haaland also previously served as a U.S. representative for New Mexico before heading up Interior.
Meanwhile, Harris is eyeing the race for California governor in 2026 and is expected to make a final call on a potential run by the end of this summer, Politico reports.

Runaway kangaroo shuts down Alabama interstate highway

A runaway kangaroo forced the closure of an Alabama interstate highway in a bizarre incident captured on video.
Footage showed the animal hopping along Interstate 85 in Macon County on Tuesday, between Montgomery and Auburn, before it was captured by state troopers and its owner.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the marsupial had been involved in a two-vehicle crash.
“Eventually both the southbound and northbound lanes of Interstate 85 near the 46-mile marker were closed while Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division along with the animal’s owner conducted a recovery of the kangaroo,” it said in a statement. “The animal has now been recovered, and the roadway is back open. The kangaroo was not injured in the crash.”

The kangaroo, named Shiela, was tranquilized with a dart.
The animal’s owner, Patrick Starr, told The Associated Press that Sheila escaped from her enclosure.
“She’s back home safe. She’s up. She’s not sedated anymore. She’s eating. She’s drinking. She’s not injured,” Starr said.
The kangaroo was treated by the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, he said.

Starr’s family runs a pumpkin patch and petting zoo, but Sheila is just a personal pet, he added.
Austin Price, who took the video of the kangaroo hopping down the interstate, told the AP he had to briefly question if he was seeing things.
“I hear my grandmother yell, ‘Is that a kangaroo?’ ” Price said.
