2 Houston-area HBCUs receive more than $174 million in federal funding

HOUSTON — About 100 Traditionally Black Schools and Universities (HBCUs) shared greater than $2.7 billion in funding from President Biden’s American Rescue Plan, the White Home introduced Monday.
Included in that listing had been two Houston-area universities — Texas Southern College and Prairie View A&M College. TSU obtained $90,104,029 in funding and Prairie View obtained $84,101,911.
