HARRISON COUNTY, W.Va (WDTV) – In a deal that officially closed Friday, Armstrong Hardwood Flooring purchased two Allegheny Wood Products Sawmills. The West Virginia mills, one in Norton and another in Smoot were bought for $7.5 Million. AHF’s COO, Jake Loftis, says he’s excited about what the partnership will offer.

“This is a Cinderella deal that does not come around often,” said Loftis. “For the folks in the area, while this team was not in the AHF Products family, we’re very happy to welcome them in. We know that we are going to work seamlessly with the Beverley facility as we transact raw materials.”

Loftis says all this is to maintain high service levels to customers, as this decision secures a little over 20% of the take rate for lumber in the region. The move also takes in 80 full-time hires and AHF is open to a reunion with those AWP workers that had to search for another job during closures.

“The folks that we lost, we would certainly be more than happy to welcome those folks back to the organization, AHF,” said Loftis.
