Mayor Bowser to Call on Businesses to Host Student Interns as Part of DC’s Reimagined High School Programming

Washington, DC – On Monday, August 15, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Workplace of the State Superintendent of Training will encourage employers to host District highschool college students this upcoming college yr as a part of the brand new Superior Internship Program and spotlight different alternatives for college students to construct career-ready abilities. The District is searching for to companion with organizations and companies to put a further 200 college students for the upcoming college yr.

Mayor Bowser and Superintendent Grant might be joined by Dr. Ashanti Carter, Program Director on the George Washington College’s College of Drugs and Well being Sciences’ Rodham Institute, which hosted two DC highschool interns this previous spring as a part of the Superior Internship Program. 

Mayor Bowser has invested over $30 million over three years to reimagine work-based studying within the District’s faculties.
