Mayor Bowser to Announce A One-Time ‘Back-to-School’ Payment for DC Families Receiving TANF

Washington, DC – On Thursday, August 18, at 11 am, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Division of Human Companies will announce a one-time cost of roughly $1,000 for households who’re enrolled within the Momentary Help for Needy Households (TANF) program. These funds to households are funded by way of the Pandemic Emergency Help Fund, a federal fund established by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Mayor Bowser will make the announcement throughout a TANF Employment Program hiring and useful resource honest.
