Man arrested, charged after double murder in southeast DC

D.C. police say a person has been arrested and charged in reference to a double homicide within the southeast.

Officers say 41-year-old James Jones was arrested Monday. Investigators say Jones shot and killed 57-year-old David Wright and 54-year-old Nathaniel Howard Sunday afternoon within the 3300 block of D Road.

Each males died on the scene. A motive has not but been decided.

Jones faces two counts of second diploma homicide whereas armed. Officers say a firearm was recovered on the time of his arrest. Detectives consider Jones and victims had been identified to one another.

The investigation is constant at the moment.

Authorities say 5 folks had been shot and killed within the District over the weekend.  Police say two males had been shot and killed within the 5200 block of Sheriff Street in Northeast D.C. Sunday. An individual was additionally killed in a capturing Saturday night time close to Audi Area in Southwest D.C. throughout D.C. United’s season-opening sport.
