D.C. police identify man who died by suicide after shootout with officers

Officers on Wednesday recognized the person who fatally shot himself within the Columbia Heights neighborhood after a shootout earlier this week with D.C. cops.

Savontae Dodie Perkins, a 40-year-old from Northwest Washington, was discovered useless in an alley after buying and selling gunshots with officers, in keeping with police.

His household couldn’t be reached.

The incident started round 11:30 p.m. Monday, when police responded to a report of gunshots within the 1400 block of Park Street NW.
