Amtrak passengers stuck during Christmas after train to D.C. canceled
CHICAGO (CBS) — A number of Amtrak passengers headed to Washington, D.C., have been caught at Union Station for 2 days.
Latonya Moyer stated she was touring to D.C. from San Francisco, when unhealthy climate and tools points canceled the journey on Saturday.
She stated she and different passengers have spent hours since then contained in the practice station.
Amtrak provided them meals vouchers, however due to the Christmas vacation, all the pieces was closed, so folks have been caught at Union Station with nothing to eat or drink.
Amtrak later gave them vouchers to remain at a neighborhood lodge, however they nonetheless do not know when their practice will likely be prepared to go away.
“We’re not asking for miracles, we simply wish to go house with the tickets that we paid for months in the past, and so they’re not telling us something. So what are we presupposed to do?” Moyer stated.
An Amtrak spokesperson confirmed service on the Capital Restricted line from Chicago to D.C. has been canceled due to tools points and ongoing climate situations on the East Coast.
