77 percent of DC residents feel safe from crime according to new poll
WASHINGTON – A brand new ballot says greater than three-quarters of D.C. residents really feel “very” or “considerably” protected from crime of their neighborhoods.
In keeping with a Washington Publish-Schar College ballot, 77 p.c of District residents really feel protected of their neighborhoods, up from 69 p.c in 2022.
Within the D.C. suburbs in Maryland and Virginia, residents really feel even safer. 86 p.c of individuals in Maryland suburbs and 94 p.c of individuals in Northern Virginia say they really feel protected of their neighborhoods, in response to the ballot.
The numbers come because the District sees a rise in property crime, significantly in automobile thefts. 48 p.c of D.C. residents are “very involved” about carjackings, in response to the ballot.
