A girl was stopped by safety personnel at Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport for attempting to carry giraffe and zebra bones again to the US from Kenya, in line with a report by Customs and Border Safety (CBP). The bones had been discovered throughout a secondary baggage examination and the lady advised the authorities that she discovered the bones in Kenya and stored them as souvenirs.

The CBP didn’t launch the title of the lady as a result of she was not criminally charged. She initially reffered to a secondary agriculture examination for declaring that she possessed a small Acacia tree twig. She then amended her declaration to incorporate the bones after CBP agriculture specialists x-rayed her baggage and found an anomaly. The Acacia tree twig was admissible. CBP launched the lady after agriculture specialists detained the bones, reported CBP.

On November 17, Fish and Wildlife Service inspectors mentioned that the bones violated provisions of the Conference on Worldwide Commerce in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), the Endangered Species Act (ESA), and the Lacey Act. USFWS directed CBP to grab the bones.

CBP official Christopher Brewer advised Fox 5 DC that safety officers have seized the whole lot from charred bat meat to a stew containing iguana eggs.
