Virginia Wesleyan men roll past Regent for 6-0 start, but face tough test next

Miles Wallace scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures and Virginia Wesleyan routed Regent 100-42 in a college basketball game Wednesday at TowneBank Arena in Virginia Beach.

Elijah Gardner (15), Jordan Crump (14), Eric Rowland (12) and Khai Seargeant (10) also reached double digits for the Marlins, who improved to 6-0.

Wallace didn’t miss a shot, going 6 of 6 from the field, 3 of 3 from 3-point range and 1 of 1 from the line.

The Marlins forced 28 turnovers and turned those into 34 points. They also shot 53.6% from the field and outscored Regent 30-5 on fast-break points.

VWU will visit Randolph-Macon, ranked No. 3 in the D3hoops.com poll, at 5 p.m. next Wednesday.
