No. 1 Virginia Men’s Tennis Secures ITA Bid With 4-0 Sweep Over Princeton

Each the Virginia males’s and ladies’s tennis groups will compete within the 2023 ITA Nationwide Workforce Indoor Championships as each groups took care of enterprise within the ITA Kickoff Weekend at Boar’s Head. No. 8 UVA girls’s tennis defeated Washington State and South Carolina to clinch a spot and the No. 1 Virginia males’s tennis staff delivered a pair of sweeps in opposition to Nevada on Saturday and Princeton on Sunday to safe a bid to ITA Indoors.

On the highest courtroom, Chris Rodesch clinched the victory for Virginia with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Fnu Nidunjianzan, sending the Cavaliers to the ITA Nationwide Indoor Workforce Championships for the Thirteenth time within the final 15 years. UVA has received six ITA Nationwide Championships, with the newest coming in 2017 when the Cavaliers received the title in Charlottesville. 

The Virginia males’s tennis staff will take part within the ITA Nationwide Workforce Indoor Championships held February Seventeenth-Twentieth in Chicago. The UVA girls’s tennis staff will play within the ITA Nationwide Workforce Indoor Championships from February Tenth-Thirteenth in Seattle. 

The UVA males’s tennis staff will play three matches earlier than the ITA Indoors, together with two matches in opposition to ranked opponents. The Cavaliers face No. 4 Kentucky on February third, Radford on February fifth, and No. 2 Ohio State on February eleventh, with all three of these matches going down in Charlottesville.
