High rain threat continues on Memorial Day with chance for a few thunderstorms

Skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast the rest of Sunday. There will be more breaks in northern Virginia.

Some additional batches of showers will track through parts of the region at times. Highs will be in the 60s to lower 70s. Winds will gust over 20 mph in spots, with some higher gusts near the coast.

Some showers and storms will occur on Memorial Day, but there will be many dry hours with breaks in the clouds. Highs will be in the low and mid 70s.
