OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Courtney Day hit a three-run homer, Estelle Czech threw a four-hitter and Texas stored its season alive with a 5-0 win over No. 7 seed Oklahoma State within the Ladies’s Faculty World Sequence semifinals on Monday night time.
Texas’ victory compelled a second recreation between the groups later Monday night time, with the winner advancing to play No. 1 seed and defending nationwide champion Oklahoma in a best-of-three championship sequence beginning Wednesday.
Oklahoma State (48-13) entered Monday unbeaten within the double-elimination format and Texas had a loss, that means the Longhorns (46-20-1) wanted to win twice to advance. The Cowgirls had received all 4 earlier conferences with the Longhorns this season.
However Texas received a robust efficiency from Czech. She walked three, struck out three and allowed Texas to avoid wasting ace Hailey Dolcini. Czech (13-1) had thrown 3 2/3 innings of shutout aid in an elimination-game victory over Arizona on Sunday.
Morgan Day (13-5) went the space for the Cowgirls, who didn’t use ace Kelly Maxwell.
