The 2022 Congressional Artwork competitors included 63 scholar submissions throughout the State of Texas’ thirty first congressional district.
Mikayla Perez, a senior at Harker Heights Excessive College, says she entered the competition after her artwork instructor beneficial it to the category.
She had no inventive background and, actually, says this was her first artwork class.
Upon her instructor’s suggestion, she entered a photograph that she had beforehand taken on her cellphone whereas she was horseback using close to Waco.
At an awards ceremony held at Texas State College-Spherical Rock, Consultant John Carter (TX-31) introduced that Perez’s photograph, which she named “A Cowboy’s Treasure” had gained the competition and can grasp within the US Capitol for a yr to symbolize Texas’ thirty first Congressional District.
