Tennessee to celebrate statehood day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – June 1, marks 226 years of statehood for Tennessee. Tennessee State Library and Archives alongside the Tennessee State Museum and Bicentennial Mall Park are internet hosting free celebrations this week that the general public is invited to attend.

“Our Statehood Day occasions will make historical past come alive. I hope you’ll be part of us for the celebration and uncover one thing new about our nice state,” stated Tre Hargett, Tennessee Secretary of State.

TSLA can have Tennessee’s three authentic constitutions on show in its foyer guarded by the Tennessee Freeway Patrol Honor Guard.

The TSLA can be debuting a brand new exhibit that includes “not often seen” historic paperwork just like the Cumberland Compact and the Cherokee Nation 1827 Structure.
