A new wildfire has erupted in Pittman Center near Gatlinburg, prompting evacuations in the Cobbly Nob area of Tennessee and around Webb Mountain.

A new wildfire has erupted in Pittman Center near Gatlinburg, prompting evacuations in the Cobbly Nob area of Tennessee and around Webb Mountain, meteorologist Kyle Grainger reported on X. The fire has engulfed over 200 acres of land.

Evacuation orders affect the following areas:

  1. Pittman Center Rd

2. Laurel Creek Rd

3. Old Happy Hollow Road

4. Pinnacle Vista Road

According to the East Tennessee Weather Network, evacuations are in progress across Sevier and Cumberland Counties. The Sevier County EMA has issued evacuation orders for Tower Road, Bluff Mountain Road, Cobbly Nob, Pittman Center, and Webb Mountain.

The Cumberland County EMA has called for evacuations along Browntown Road. Cumberland County residents can head to Pleasant Hill Elementary School at 486 E Main Street for shelter.
