Complaint against Faison noted in judge’s public records ruling – Tennessee Lookout
State documents in an open records lawsuit dealing with the sexual harassment case of former Rep. Scotty Campbell contained notes dealing with an alleged victim complaint filed against House Republican Caucus Chairman Jeremy Faison, a court ruling shows.
Davidson County Chancellor Russell Perkins on Tuesday ruled against Nashvillian Brian Manookian in his effort to open records in the Campbell case. But the judge’s ruling also revealed an alleged victim complaint was filed against Faison, who is believed to have played a role in the dismissal of Campbell, an East Tennessee Republican, following news reports he sexually harassed a female intern working in the Legislature last year.
In his mid-2023 filing, Manookian sought to obtain public records detailing state expenses surrounding the move of the young intern to another apartment away from Campbell’s residence. He also asked for documents detailing any sexual harassment or other type of complaints against Faison, a Cosby Republican.
The ruling by Perkins notes that in June, the state delivered a mailing envelope to the court for an in-camera inspection containing documents cataloging an investigation by Connie Ridley, director of Legislative Administration, into the Campbell case, along with media inquiries and a second letter-size file folder dated April 4, 2023 “with an alleged victim’s first name containing two pages of notes pertaining to a complaint against Representative Faison,” in addition to Faison’s redacted and non-redacted personnel files.
The order provided no further details about the nature of the complaint against Faison.
On social media, Faison has denied sexually harassing anyone. He did not respond to text message questions Wednesday morning, and the House Republican Caucus did not answer questions immediately Wednesday.
Ridley did not respond to a public records request immediately Wednesday either.
Gov. Bill Lee authorized the hiring of Nashville law firm Sherrard Roe Voigt Harbison at $375 an hour to handle the challenge filed by Manookian after Ridley’s office refused to open records in the case dealing with Campbell, an East Tennessee Republican found to have sexually harassed a 19-year-old intern.
The Legislature’s policy says no information about the complaint would be released to anyone who isn’t directly involved in an investigation, a lawsuit, corrective action or as required by law.
After a House ethics subcommittee determined Campbell violated the Legislature’s Workplace Discrimination and Harassment Policy, the state spent nearly $8,000 to move the young woman from her apartment near the Cordell Hull Building, where the Legislature works to a downtown hotel and to transport her furniture back home. She was also given nearly $1,000 in cash to cover costs at the apartment she left, according to a NewsChannel5 report.
Campbell resigned abruptly April 20 after NewsChannel5 reported on the case and just two hours after saying he would not step down from his post. House Speaker Cameron Sexton and House Majority Leader William Lamberth said in a press conference that night they didn’t tell Campbell to leave. Faison didn’t respond at the press conference when House leadership was asked who told Campbell to leave the Legislature.

AFC South Coach Makes Bold Titans QB Prediction
The clock may be ticking for Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis, and one AFC South coach seems to think his time may be running thin.
Titans head coach Brian Callahan has maintained that Levis will keep the job, but another coach win the division disagrees.
“It’s only a matter of time before Mason Rudolph takes over,” the coach said, via Dianna Russini of The Athletic.
Tennessee signed Rudolph in free agency for this exact reason. Rudolph has plenty of starting experience from his Pittsburgh Steelers days, and while he did not necessarily light it up during his six-year tenure with the club, he was still a solid backup.
Last season, Rudolph stepped in for an injured Kenny Pickett and even led the Steelers to the playoffs, throwing for 719 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 74.3 percent of his passes in four appearances and three starts.
The Titans selected Levis in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Levis ultimately supplanted Ryan Tannehill under center midway through his rookie campaign and hit the ground running, throwing four touchdown passes in his first start.
However, Levis then amassed a grand total of three touchdown tosses over his final eight starts last season. He hasn’t been much better in 2024, registering 604 yards, four touchdowns and a league-worst six picks through four games.
It should be noted that Levis suffered an AC joint sprain in his shoulder and left the game after throwing just four passes against the Miami Dolphins last week.
Tennessee spent considerable money during the offseason to try and compete in the AFC South, but the Titans have gotten off to a 1-3 start heading into their Week 5 bye.
Levis’ subpar play is a major reason for Tennessee’s struggles.

Analyst Blasts Titans With Brutal Take
Things look hopeless for the Tennessee Titans early in the 2024 NFL season.
The Titans did beat the Miami Dolphins for their first win of the year this past Monday, but the Dolphins were missing Tua Tagovailoa and are one of the only teams that looks more hapless than Tennessee right now.
Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon lit into the Titans, essentially saying that there isn’t much to be excited about in Tennessee the rest of the way.
“It will become increasingly difficult to comment on this going-nowhere team and its collection of mediocre quarterbacks surrounded by a plethora of players that are either beyond their primes or never hit ’em,” Gagnon wrote.
Yeesh, that’s bad.
The Titans actually appeared to be a sleeper team heading into the season as a result of a rather decent-looking roster on paper. But the game isn’t played on paper.
Plus, Tennessee’s success in 2024 largely hinged on the performance of quarterback Will Levis, who has looked awful through the first several weeks and ended up getting injured after just four passes versus Miami. Mason Rudolph then led the Titans to victory.
Tennessee has a bye in Week 5, but Levis—who is dealing with an AC joint sprain—may be ready to go against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6.
The question is, would the Titans be better off with Rudolph under center?
Even if they would, Rudolph doesn’t exactly inspire a ton of confidence, which makes you wonder if Tennessee was better off losing out for the remainder of the season and then drafting a quarterback.
The Titans could very well end up selling off some pieces between now and the Nov. 5 NFL trade deadline. What they do during that period of time will tell us a lot about the direction of the team going forward.
