South Carolina reveals final injury report ahead of Week 1 bout vs. North Carolina
South Carolina is set to play North Carolina on Saturday in Charlotte. The last injury report ahead of the season opener was released on Thursday.
Three players were listed as questionable on Tuesday. Jatius Geer, Bam Martin-Scott, and Connor Cox have all dealt with injuries this offseason. Shane Beamer confirmed that all three will not be playing on Saturday.
Beamer made it clear that the team is in great shape outside of those three players. Beamer expects all three to be back for Week 2.
“We are in fantastic shape,” Beamer said. “Three guys won’t play – Geer, Cox and Bam Scott won’t be able to play. Should have those guys back next week.”
Beamer had some good news, however. Juice Wells, Nyckoles Harbor, and Trey Knox will all be playing in the game.
“They are full-go, ready to play,” Beamer said. “They had a fantastic week of practice and couldn’t be more excited about playing. They looked great in practice this week, feel great and looking forward to seeing them on Saturday.”
Having the presence of those three on the field should do South Carolina plenty of favors.
The Gamecocks and Tar Heels are set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC. Can Beamer pull off the upset in Week 1?
