Motorcyclist killed after crash in Lexington County

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash in Lexington County Friday night.

Troopers say around 10:30 Friday night, A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling west on Long Pine Road near John Kinard Circle.

According to SCHP, the driver ran off the side of the road into an embankment before driving into several trees.

Troopers say the driver was found dead on the scene.

The deceased motorcyclist was identified as 43-year-old David Eric Jones. Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said Jones was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash

The incident is still under investigation by SCHP.
