Man drowns in South Carolina park

WARE SHOALS, S.C. (WSPA)- – A person died Monday after drowning at Irving Pitts Memorial Park, in accordance with the Laurens County Coroner’s Workplace.

Officers obtained a name concerning the reported drowning at about 2:40 p.m.

The Ware Shoals Police Division, Laurens County Water Rescue group, Ware Shoals Fireplace Division, South Carolina Division of Pure Sources, Laurens County and Greenwood EMS, in addition to a divers from the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Workplace responded to the scene.

Sgt. James Kyle Beasley of the Ware Shoals Police Division stated officers jumped into the water and swam about 500 toes previous a financial institution towards an island. There, they noticed relations round a person that they stated had been coming up from the water.

Beasley stated the person was roughly eight toes deep within the water and was caught beneath a rock.

The sufferer’s identification has not but been launched.
