Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal shooting of South Carolina man – Now Habersham
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of a Greenville, South Carolina man that occurred Tuesday afternoon September 19.
Deputies responded to the 2000 block of Walker Drive near Chicopee Street at roughly 4:30 p.m. and assisted bystanders that were providing first aid to the victim, identified as Junior Gabriel Linares, 18, who was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Hall County Fire Rescue transported Linares to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where he later died.
Deputies and investigators recovered the weapon, a handgun, and interviewed individuals who were at the location at the time of the shooting. Everyone who was present during the incident is accounted for, and there is no danger to the community.
There have been no arrests or criminal charges filed in the case at this time. Linares’ body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsy.
