Sister Of Oklahoma Combat Veteran Concerned For His Mental Health After Arrest In Indianapolis

A veteran from Cleveland, Oklahoma, has been listed as missing in Indianapolis. Police there have issued the state’s first Green Alert, which is a missing person alert for veterans in crisis.

Cleveland police say the man, Justin Cavin, has stated he did not want to contact his family.

The man’s sister has been searching for him for days. The family says Cavin would have never taken a trip like this before his mental health started to decline.

They say this situation unfolded within weeks of the family trying to get him help, which did not go well.

Cavin. a combat veteran, left Cleveland, Oklahoma, on September 9. Cleveland police say he was arrested the next day in southern Illinois for possession of meth and at that time, he said he didn’t want to contact his family.

His sister says law enforcement in Indianapolis told them a camera spotted Cavin and his car outside a bar there after the arrest.

“He’s never been to Indiana before. He’s not familiar, and he has no resources. He has no phone, no keys, nothing,” said Lesley Pooler, Cavin’s sister.

While Indianapolis police believe Cavin is in danger due to his mental state, Cleveland police tell us he is no longer considered a missing person in their system.
