Police Say Officer Was Shot At In Northwest Oklahoma City
A police unit was struck with a bullet in northwest Oklahoma City, police say.
According to Oklahoma City Police, an officer was flagged down by a citizen around North Rockwell Avenue and West Wilshire Boulevard.
MSgt. Gary Knight tells News 9 that while speaking with that person another person started shooting at the officer. Police say that the officer’s unit was hit several times, and bullets went into the vehicle. Police also say that the computer in the unit was struck.
Knight says that the officer pulled over to safety and called for help.
The officer was reportedly struck by shrapnel or glass in the arm and was transported to a local hospital with a minor injury, according to OCPD.
Police say the suspect is at large at this time.
