Oklahoma Couple Drowns in Rural North Dakota River

MOTT, N.D. (AP) — An Oklahoma couple died in North Dakota when their pickup truck was swept into the Cannonball River.

Hettinger County Sheriff Sarah Warner mentioned Patrick and Joan Blake, each 74, of Arcadia, Okla., had been driving Sunday in a rural a part of the county after they sought to cross the river at a low crossing the place it was 3 to 4 toes deep.

The truck misplaced traction and went into the river, Warner mentioned. The couple referred to as 911 at about 1 p.m. to report water as much as the doorways of the truck, trapping them.

First responders could not instantly discover the truck. A dive group was referred to as and it was discovered at about 6:30 p.m. submerged in 15 toes of water with the couple inside, Warner mentioned.
