Swimmer drowns at popular waterfall in North Carolina
LINVILLE, N.C.
A 53-year-old man has died after drowning at a preferred waterfall in western North Carolina.
The Linville Volunteer Fireplace Division stated it obtained a name late Friday morning a couple of lacking swimmer at Elk River Falls.
WJHL-TV reported that the sufferer was Philip D. Williams, 53.
Elk River Falls, within the Pisgah Nationwide Forest, has been the scene of a number of drownings in recent times, in accordance with the U.S. Forest Service.
In the course of the rescue and restoration efforts Friday, a diver with the fireplace division suffered a medical emergency and was taken by helicopter to the hospital. The fireplace division stated the diver is anticipated to make a full restoration and that his medical points have been unrelated to the dive.
