KURE BEACH, N.C. – The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher (NCAFF) desires you to assist identify three child otters. The aquarium says the three feminine Asian small-clawed otter pups are “rising up quick.” The NCAFF says their native habitat is Indonesia, southern China, southern India, Southeast Asia and the Philippines. They’re the smallest of the otter species and listed as susceptible on the Worldwide Union for Conservation of Nature’s Purple Record of Threatened Species. Inhabitants numbers are declining due to many threats, together with residential and industrial growth, deforestation, the unlawful pet commerce, air pollution, local weather change, and poaching.
