Missing man’s body found after search and rescue on North Carolina lake

CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A person’s physique was discovered Sunday after he went into the water at Lake Norman and didn’t resurface, in accordance with N.C. Wildlife Regulation Enforcement.

Officers mentioned he went lacking within the water at round 3 p.m. Saturday, and his physique was discovered about 4:30 p.m. Sunday. He was not sporting a life jacket.

N.C. Wildlife mentioned the person was on a pontoon boat with a gaggle of individuals on the time. They’re not sure if he jumped or fell into the water.

These individuals he was with tried to rescue him, however they had been unsuccessful of their makes an attempt.

First responders went to the scene after receiving calls relating to the scenario. Upon arrival, they started looking for the person.

Search and rescue efforts had been paused Saturday evening round 8:30 p.m. as dangerous climate was forecasted to maneuver into the world. The cruel wind was mentioned to hamper efforts within the search space.
