Convicted North Carolina felons charged with drug trafficking, illegal gun possession

Two convicted North Carolina felons are dealing with drug-related costs after police executed a search warrant of a house and found unlawful narcotics.

Joshua Cureton, 31, and LaKisha Harris, 40, had been taken into custody after Excessive Level Police searched the house on Thursday. 

The police division’s Road Crimes Unit had acquired a tip that morning about two folks allegedly promoting crack cocaine and heroin out of a house, FOX 8 reported.

Investigators seized 38 grams of heroin, 68 grams of crack cocaine, 29 Suboxone patches, a loaded AR-15 rifle, a shotgun and greater than $2,500 in money from the house on Triangle Lake Street.

Cureton and Harris are each charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine, possession with intent to promote or ship a Schedule I managed substance, possession with intent to promote or ship a Schedule II managed substance, sustaining a dwelling for drug exercise close to a faculty/daycare, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Harris was additionally served with three current failure-to-appear warrants, police mentioned.

In line with police, Cureton has been taken into custody 9 instances since 2018, and 6 of these instances concerned drug costs.
