A&T Places Second After First Day of Outer Banks Intercollegiate – North Carolina A&T

KITTY HAWK, N.C. – Three North Carolina A&T ladies’s golfers are within the top-10 after the primary day and first two rounds of the Outer Banks Intercollegiate on the par-72 6,148-yard Duck Woods Nation Membership on Saturday. 

The Aggies are in second place after 36 holes, capturing a 79-over 655. They’re 33 photographs off the lead after Navy fired off a 46-over 622. A&T leads third-place Mount St. Mary’s by 4 photographs after The Mount carded a 659. 

Sophomore Vileska Gelpi and freshman Victoria Stutts lead the Aggies after a two-round 17-over 161 because the Aggie duo is in a four-way tie for sixth place. Gelpi and Stutts are seven strokes off the lead behind Navy’s Mara Hirtle, who stands at 10-over 154. 

Two of her teammates are in second and third, respectively, in Jenna Hann (13-over, 157) and Stephanie Lee (14-over, 158). Mount Saint Mary’s Erika Cui (15-over, 159) and Navy’s Sue Lee (16-over, 160) spherical out the top-5. In the meantime, Division I switch Kennedi Lee is in tenth place after capturing a 21-over 165.

Gelpi recorded an 86 within the first spherical however bounced with a 3-over 75 within the second for the second-best rating of the spherical. Gelpi’s second spherical included capturing 2-under on the entrance 9. She scored twice on the entrance 9 with a birdie on the par-4, 336-yard fifth and one other on the par-5, 489-yard seventh. She had three bogeys and a double on the again 9.  

Stutts posted an 82 within the first spherical and a 79 within the second. Stutts, enjoying in her first collegiate match, didn’t file a birdie on the day however had an efficient entrance 9 within the second spherical by capturing 2-over with seven pars and two bogeys. 

Lee shot an 81 within the first spherical with out the good thing about a birdie. She then shot an 84 within the second spherical after carding two birdies.
