8,000-acre coastal North Carolina property bought in record-breaking sale

HYDE COUNTY, N.C. — An enormous piece of property close to the North Carolina coast has simply been bought.

Roper Island, which spans 8,263 acres in Hyde County, bought for $1.4 million, in line with Aaron Sutton, managing dealer of the North Carolina workplace for Nationwide Land Realty. The acquisition worth comes out to about $169 an acre.

The property boasts 25 miles of water frontage and sits in northern Hyde County alongside the Alligator River close to the Pamlico Sound.
