Vote for Mississippi boys athlete of the week for Oct. 2-6

There were several top performers across the state in boys high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for Oct. 2-6.

Fans may vote in the poll below one time per hour per device. The poll closes at noon on Friday.

Nominations

Charles Simpson, Madison-Ridgeland Academy: Simpson had 5 total total touchdowns with 337 total yards. Three rushing touchdowns on 28 carries for 207 yards and 2 receiving touchdowns, tallying 10 receptions for 103 yards in a 63-58 loss to Hartfield Academy.

Bralan Womack, Hartfield Academy: Womack had two 90-plus yard kick-off return touchdowns, along with two receiving touchdowns and 59 yards receiving. Also, he added the game-ending interception in a 63-58 win over Madison-Ridgeland Academy. 

Ny Johnson, Germantown: Johnson had 23 carries for 250 yards. Produced three touchdowns and included a 59-yard passing touchdown in a 28-27 win over Starkville.

Daniel Fagan, Jackson Academy: Fagan tallied a game-leading 11 total tackles (7 Solo) in a 29-7 win over Starkville Academy.

John William Walker, St. Andrew’s Episcopal: Walker scored three receiving touchdowns on nine receptions for 185 yards helping St. Andrew’s Episcopal’s 35-34 win over Pisgah.

Ahmad Hardy, Lawrence County: Hardy rushed for 244 yards on 24 carries including three touchdowns in Lawrence County’s 48-26 loss to University Lab (LA).
