State Games of Mississippi Athlete and Volunteer of the Year Banquet

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – The State Games of Mississippi had their annual Athlete and Volunteer of the Year banquet at the MCC Riley Workforce Development Center.

Over 30 athletes in specialized events were recognized, as well as 3 overall athletes of the year. These athletes were nominated based on participation, sportsmanship, effort, and positive attitude.

Rowdy Briscoe of Choctaw won the youth athlete of the year and was a participant in stickball.

Scott Gray of Meridian won male athlete of the year and was a participant in 4-person beach volleyball.

Jacelyn “Jaycie” Collins of Meridian was recognized as the female athlete of the year and was a participant in masters swimming.

Also recognized as volunteer of the year was Shellie Burgess of Brookhaven.

Congratulations to these athletes and amazing volunteer on their achievement.
