Relations NyKisha Franklin, left, Kennedy Allen, Jeremy Forman, Tiaa Allen, Jeremiah Foreman, Courtney Allen Sr., Brandy Forman and Courtney Allen Jr., cease for a photograph as they hearken to the music of Candy Wine at a home occasion close to the Christmas Eve bonfires Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022, on the Mississippi River levee in Gramercy. Dozens of bonfires in St. John the Baptist and St. James parishes lit the way in which for Papa Noel, the Cajun Santa Claus, as he flew throughout south Louisiana to convey toys to girls and boys. The Christmas Eve custom dates to the 1700s. (Photograph by Scott Threlkeld, NOLA.com | The Occasions-Picayune | The New Orleans Advocate)
