Ole Miss Takes on Mississippi State in the Annual Governor’s Cup – HottyToddy

Ole Miss and Mississippi State will meet on the diamond for the fourth straight recreation on Tuesday evening in Pearl within the annual Governor’s Cup. The primary pitch is about for six p.m. and will be streamed on SEC Community+.
Ole Miss (22-17, 6-12 SEC) took the opening recreation of the sequence over the weekend previous to dropping the again finish to the Bulldogs.
Ole Miss has tallied 70 house runs this season, rating fourth within the convention and eleventh within the nation. The Rebels have hit a number of house runs in 21 video games this season.
Shortstop Jacob Gonzalez homered 3 times within the sequence, together with a pair of huge flies on Saturday. On Friday, his house run was bookended by one-run bombs from Justin Bench and Tim Elko. It was the second time this season that Ole Miss has hit back-to-back-to-back house runs and the fourth time the Rebels have gone no less than back-to-back.
Elko is batting .366 in convention play, rating sixth within the league. The slugger has pushed in 24 runs in league video games, the second most within the SEC. Elko has hammered 9 house runs in SEC video games, one behind the convention chief, teammate Gonzalez.
Mississippi State (24-17, 8-10 SEC) is led on the plate Brad Cumbest with a .340 batting common.
Followers will see right-hander Drew McDaniel take the hill for the Rebels and RHP Mikey Tepper for Mississippi State.
Ole Miss is in search of its first Governor’s Cup victory over MSU since 2015. The Rebels and Bulldogs haven’t performed for the Governor’s cup since 2019. The Bulldogs maintain a slim 20-18 benefit within the sequence.
