Mississippi has a new cyber unit and director

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – In an effort to struggle laptop crimes, Mississippi has a brand new cyber unit and director.

Commissioner Sean Tindell and the Mississippi Division of Public Security made the announcement Friday.

The Mississippi Cyber Unit – a part of the Mississippi Workplace of Homeland Safety – would be the state’s centralized cybersecurity risk data, mitigation, and incident reporting and response middle.

I’m excited to announce the appointment of Bobby Freeman as the primary Director of the Mississippi Cyber Unit throughout the Mississippi Workplace of Homeland Safety,” stated Govt Director of Homeland Safety, Baxter Kruger.

The brand new director, Bobby Freeman, served full-time because the Cyber Operations Officer for the Mississippi Military Nationwide Guard earlier than becoming a member of the Mississippi Workplace of Homeland Safety.
