RIDGELAND, Miss. (AP) — A former College of Mississippi and NFL soccer participant has been arrested in Mississippi on kidnapping costs.
Jerrell Powe, 35, remained jailed Monday within the Jackson suburb of Ridgeland with no bail set. It is unclear if he has a lawyer to talk for him.
Ridgeland Police Chief Brian Myers advised WLBT-TV that Powe and one other individual had been arrested on Thursday at a financial institution within the metropolis.
Myers mentioned the kidnapping started in Laurel, 75 miles (120 kilometers) southeast of Jackson, and ended after the sufferer was in a position to contact Ridgeland police. He mentioned the sufferer is protected.
