Flip watch: Mississippi State loses commitment from 2024 TE out of Alabama
Jay Lindsey committed to Mississippi State in April but appears to be heading elsewhere to play in the SEC.
Lindsey, a tight end out of Patrician Academy in Butler, Alabama, announced late Saturday that he has decommitted from MSU. He posted a note on social media with the following:
“To all of the Mississippi State coaches and staff, I would like to thank you for everything that you have done for me and my family. Thank you for taking your time to recruit me and for being so good to me during the process. With that being said, after a lot of thought and prayer, I have decommitted from Mississippi State.”
Lindsey is listed as measuring 6-5 and 235 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Lindsey is rated 3-stars, the No. 37 player in the state of Alabama, No. 46 tight end and No. 971 prospect overall in the Class of 2024.
Lindsey has picked up scholarship offers from 9 schools during his recruitment. Alabama extended a scholarship offer in June, and there is now a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction logged for Lindsey to land with the Crimson Tide.
As of now, Lindsey has not publicly pledged to a new school.
