MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) – The Women’s Alliance of Meridian hosted a Lunch and Learn event on Tuesday at The Max.

The group invited the First Lady of Mississippi Elee Reeves to speak about the importance of giving back to your community.

Reeves shares that volunteerism is close to her heart.

“So, I love going around the state and meeting new people and going to luncheons and events and getting to just spread the message of volunteerism and just kind of the fun things that Tate and I’ve got to do over the last four years and hope to continue for the next four. So, today in my speech, I really wanted to just really focus on volunteerism and how, you know, anything that you can give back to your community really comes back tenfold,” said Reeves.

Reeves said her next event will be the Friends of the Mansion Garden Party this Thursday where they are raising money for the historic part of the Governor’s Mansion.
