Bystander at Mississippi Street Fair shot and ‘seriously injured,’ police say
A woman was shot and “seriously injured” by gunfire while leaving the Mississippi Street Fair on Saturday, police officials said Monday.
Portland police have not released the woman’s name or age but did release further details about the confusion that engulfed the fair around 8 p.m., when a stampede of festivalgoers moved through the fair after confused, panicked people traded information about an altercation that left one man bloodied. Witnesses told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Sunday that they heard at least 10 gunshots around 8:15 p.m., when police said they responded.
