Police: Man holding what looked like rifle killed in officer-involved shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An investigation is ongoing after an officer-involved capturing unfolded in Miami-Dade County.

It occurred Monday at roughly 6:15 p.m. within the space of Northwest seventeenth avenue and one hundred and fifteenth Road in northwest Miami-Dade.

Native 10 Information cameras captured a big police presence across the scene early Monday night.

In response to police, two Miami-Dade cops responded to a house after receiving calls of a person threatening to kill individuals.

After they arrived, officers stated they discovered a person in his 70s on the sidewalk outdoors the house armed with what regarded like a rifle.

Police stated they made makes an attempt to de-escalate the state of affairs however the man didn’t comply, which resulted in an officer firing his weapon.

Officers are reviewing body-worn cameras and stated it seems the person pointed his gun at an officer.

The Florida Division of Regulation Enforcement is investigating, as is customary with any police-involved capturing.
