NORTH MIAMI, Fla. – An emotional, pro-Israel rally is expected to take place on Wednesday evening in North Miami following militant group Hamas’ surprise attack Saturday morning on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War.

The event will be held at 5 p.m. at MOCA Plaza, located at 770 NE 125 Street.

North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme said in a press release Tuesday that the event is aimed to demonstrate unwavering support for the State of Israel and promote unity among the diverse population of North Miami.

The “Israel Solidarity Rally” is expected to draw residents from different backgrounds to show their solidarity with Israel.

Community leaders and local organizations are set to take the stage to emphasize the importance of promoting peace and understanding in the region while calling for an end to violence.

“North Miami stands united with Israel, a nation that has faced its share of challenges and adversity. Our community believes in the power of diplomacy, cooperation, and peace,” said Desulme in the press release. “The Israel Solidarity Rally is not only a testament to North Miami’s commitment to fostering international partnerships but also a reminder of the strength that comes from diversity and unity.”

President Joe Biden announced at a press conference Tuesday promising to stand with Israel and denouncing the ‘unadulterated evil’ of terrorist attacks that killed more than 1,000 people, including 14 Americans over the weekend.
