Abandoned car in Maine may be clue in case of Miami-Dade boy who vanished in August
MIAMI – An deserted car that turned up in Maine might present a clue to the whereabouts of six-year-old Jorge “Jojo” Morales, who’s the topic of a Florida Division of Legislation Enforcement Amber Alert after he vanished on Aug. 27, in Miami-Dade County.
Miami-Dade detectives believed Jorge, who’s on the autism spectrum, was in a grey 2006 Ford Expedition with Florida tag CSI-U53. Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade Police Division, mentioned early Saturday morning that they have been “conscious” of the car in Maine.
“Investigators try to find out if the car has any involvement within the case,” Zabaleta wrote in an e-mail.
Jorge’s mom, Yanet Leal Concepcion, informed cops by means of tears that she and her son’s father, Jorge Morales, had been concerned in a custody battle.
Concepcion mentioned that since she left Morales about three years in the past, the 2 had engaged in an ongoing custody battle. Detectives consider Morales kidnapped Jorge.
“Each time I shut my eyes I see him and I simply need him operating towards me and to hug me and I’m afraid, I’m terrified, I’m actually damaged,” Concepcion mentioned in August.
Detectives requested anybody with details about the case to name Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477 or FDLE at 1-888-356-4774.
